Well it was a very early wakeup this morning although I surprised myself by actually managing to sleep. Normally when I have to wake up early - especially forsomething nerve-wracking like international travel - I have a crappy sleep. Anywho out of bed by 3.20am dresses, did dishes, in the car and on our way 3.55am. The travelling went exceptionally well - very smooth. Although I can't believe it - the very first compliment in flight meal we've had in ages and Darren slept through it. I just don't have the same priorities as him!
We were met at the airport by a very friendly tour representative 'Shaggy' who spent the 45 minute car ride joking with us, explaining the tour to us, Egypt tipes and also testing us on what he's said! I failed the first test so Darren was subseqwuently deemed to be the brains of the operation.
The most memorable moment of the day was when Shappy said he had a 'present' for uscoming up we just have to look out the window to the right - and we got our first sifht of the pyramids! It was pretty suureal just seeing them poking their tips up between normal sky scrapers.
Other things that struck me today:
- The residential squares of green land smack bang in the middle of sand (view from plane).
- The HUGE houses and their pools.
- The military base with all the tanks lined up.
- The high rise buildings that look both half bulit and half demolished but had people living in them - there were thousands!
:)

ps Traffic was amazing. The number of people crammed in vehicles. The number of people riding atop utes packed sky with goods!
