War Of Worlds

What can I say? I absolutely loved it. Not as much as Batman though. But I don't think anyone I went to it with even liked it. So what does that tell you? I have better taste than my friends.

Actually when it comes to movies etc I try and make the most of them, unlike some people I know (not mentioning any names... but I just happen to be related to two people whose names start with an A). I just try and like or even love a movie if it is at all possible! Hey you're going to get more joy out of life that way. However I don't do the same with people. Dumb eh? Like I'll always focus on the worst aspects of a relationship unless I'm completely secure in how the other person feels about me.

Anyway War of the Worlds. It's great! But I won't recommend it as no one else liked it. TO find out more read: War of the Worlds (Haha! That happens to be a link to the entire novel).

Also I CAN'T WAIT for the musical version to come out. I LOVED LOVED LOVED it when I was young. Which I think is why I loved the movie... bringing back childhood memories. Although I found it very scary. Especially when the Martians made Martian noises. I can remember also just listening to the electric guitars and stuff.... ahh it was great.

Joke Day!

Well I have no idea where this picture is from. I might have stolen it from someone's website, or maybe someone emailed it to me. So sorry if you've seen it all before but i thought it was funny. And as it was joke day I thought I should include a funny picture. Also incase it's not blatantly obvious the sign is Australian.

Well last night at sewing I finished my pjs (aka cow outfit extreme!). So now whenever I so desire I can look like a big snuggly cow. I'm trying to decide how much of a stir it would cause if I wore just the pj top at work. You know as a sort of coat thing. I wear pjs almost all the time at home. People might just think it's an eccentric shirt. But then again how appropriate would it be to wear an eccentric shirt?

Anyway send in jokes! Really funny ones please!

Also to Christchurchtonians. Amy my darling sister is getting tickets for War of the Worlds for tonight for a session sometime between 7.30 and 8.30 (inclusive) so you are welcome to come. If you want her to get a ticket let me know before 10am.

That is all.

You have a goal.

Indeed.

This conversation is over!

I Want One!

I love this picture!!!

Haha this is quite funny since most of my readers are male. Well most of my commenters are... I really have no idea how many of my readers are male. But anyway I want one of these! I think it would come in really handy... you know right when you're so frustrated that your teeth are grinding and you have steam coming out of your ears! Although I guess maybe in that state of mind it's not good to be playing with knives. Ah well who cares? I like the red colour especially. Mmmmm. :-)

And I've included some stargate pics for the boys below who feel that they are hard done by. Whatever!
Sooooooo what else do I have to say today? Not much. I'm at work early so I can go home early. Woo hoo! It's really weird coz there's no one else here and it's all dark outside and stuff.

Um tonight is my last night of sewing. I'm planning on finishing my pj top tonight... well getting very close to finishing anyway. I think I'll go back again next term though so I'll have to find something else cool to make!
Right well I think I'll actually get to work now!

Have a nice day everyone!

Very Frosty

One day I'm going to think of better titles for my posts. Rather than just obvious comments about the state of the temperature in Christchurch. But hey it might be of some slight interest to someone somewhere. But probably not.

Isn't that an awesome mural! Kon sent me an email with tons of them so you might have seen them before. Wish we had something cool like that in Christchurch. Although thinking about it it would probably become a driving hazard as driving past you couldn't help but stare. If any of you have ever seen the animals painted on the fence of that eye clinic on the corner of Papanui and I think Heaton St there was a lot of talk when they were painted that they should be painted over as it distracted drivers too much. I think everyone is used to them now and they're kind of faded anyway.

I saw a bad episode of Stargate last night. Yes you didn't think it was possible but it is. I suppose it was ok just very annoying, with some very grating characters. It was the one where Carter goes in a race with this alien dude Warrick and well anyway it sucked.

Today I'm having lunch with Lara yay!

Oh and last night I got my car back!!!!!!!! It did end up getting fixed. I love it so much! Oh how I missed my car. Anyway I think I'm going to sell it though since it's just got it's warrant so I'm on the lookout for another car. If i can bear to part with mine.

Frosty!

Hello,

It was nice and frosty this morning. Wasn't it?

I'm at work at little later than usual so I won't write much. Just hope everyone had a nice weekend. And Andrew didn't like Batman so he sucks. He must be flawed somehow. Oh actually..... silly me there is something extremely important I have to write about today. Oh two things actually. First Kirsty's superhero name is now Flame. So you can call her that if you like. Andrew's is the Slash... no point for guessing what his secret power is. Hehe.

But most importantly....

Drumroll please.....

We saw Daniel Jackson with no top on!!!!!

Yes you thought it was never going to happen. You all thought me and Kirsty were mad for even hoping.... but dear friends, on Saturday night, after the rugby, when we put in the first disk of season seven, the gods smiled on us. Infact not only did they smile but the bestowed the most precious of all gifts... Daniel Jackson bare chested! Well actually he was completely naked. So if you heard A LOT of screaming just after the rugby had finished on poor man's tv... it was most likely me and Kirsty. Ahhh. What a beautiful moment.

Ok bye!

My Dad

.
Happy Friday!

Everybody meet my Dad. He's the loveliest man in the world. You can guess which one is him... although most of you probably already know. I'd be interested to see out of those who didn't know if they guessed right because we do look alike. This is him doing work, um I'm not sure exactly what he does but apparently it involves shaking hands and posing for pictures. Maybe he's the queen. Actually that's a pretty silly thing to say. He's not the Queen. Bradley is the Queen.

ANYWAY... there's a reason I decided to write about my Dad. There's a wee story. My Dad (who is wonderful) had a nice little outboard motor that didn't work. So he took it to a man to fix it. The man spent some time on it and then contacted Dad and told him "there's no point in fixing this motor, but since I've already spent about $200 worth of time and materials on it I won't charge you if you just give me the motor and I'll use it for parts." Ok so my Dad thought that sounded alright. I mean if the motor can't be fixed there's no point in having it around.

But here's the twist. Dad finds out that a friend of his at work has just bought an outboard motor. And low and behold it is the same motor the nasty man told Dad wasn't worth fixing. He sold it to Dad's friend for $600. Now that makes me mad! My Dad is such a nice person to everyone and then there are scummy people around who just rip people off and scam them. Shame on you you nasty horrible man!

Anyway I've been playing around with the layout and stuff of the blog. I'm not finished yet but I don't love doing it so it might stay like this for some time. If you really can't stand looking at it like this let me know and I'll change it back.

Bring on the weekend!

:-) M

My Car is Dying :-(

I've just had some terrible news. My car is going to die.

A few months ago I got rear-ended. Now This dented my bumper and all sorts but the car still went (which was the most important thing to me). Now when I take it to get a warrant I find that the chassis is bent and it's probably not worth fixing. So my car might be dead. I'm so upset. I think I might cry.

:-(

I loved my car!

Jokes Today

Hello,

After last week's HUGE ask anyone day we're having a break from questions today (well an official break, I can't really stop you from asking anything)... and I invite you to submit a joke. I realise asking for a joke on the spot is quite a big ask, but I'm guessing at the least Nick will submit a joke - he's always good for a joke.

Anyway today is a great morning! It's not so cold anymore. And we might even get sun. And I've got a new program at the gym and it was fun. And I ate porridge and it was yummy.

I can't help but think, I'm not as interesting or introspective now that I'm a lot more positive about life. Maybe my blog would be more interesting if I had issues that were constantly bothering me. At the moment the only thing that pisses me off terribly is stupid driving. I was going at least 55km/h in a 50 zone the other week and some idiot overtook me! This was just driving to work. Grrr.

Darren and I are having an ab competition. I have no idea how this will be judged but I'm pretty sure I'll win. I think we're judging at the end of the year so I'll let you know how I go. We also had a bet that I could do the splits by the end of the year, but I've decided I don't really want to do the splits anymore, so I think I'll lose that one. Oh well, can't win them all!

Batman Begins

Well I really really really enjoyed that movie. It was the best movie I've seen all year. There wasn't anything in it that was annoying. But I won't say anything else about it as not to spoil it for others.

Other than that my weekend was quiet. So I won't write anymore than this as it will no doubt be uninteresting and it would be better if you all just went back to your days.

Oh! Except I saw two awesome Stargate episodes... the one with the first human form replicators. And some other cool one that I can't remember.

Bye!

ps

I forgot to say congratulations to my Mum who just got a new job!! Well done Mum!! She's now going to be teaching at Waimari school. It must have been because I helped her shop for her interview outfit ;-)

Last Day

Hello,

Today is Andrew's last day at work. So if anyone can think of any non-destructive funny prank he can play let him know. Especially if it's really funny. It would be good if icecream could somehow be incorporated as well.

Last night I watched Stargate. I love Stargate. I haven't really discussed this much so far but I'm taking this opportunity to do so. Stargate is great. It is so funny! And the characters are just great... they're all so likeable and have such a great dynamic in relating to each other. Also Daniel is hot. But sometimes Stargate is annoying, like when they download someone's soul onto a zip drive. Sometimes story lines like tht make me cringe. But generally it is great.

Something else I love is when girls dye their hair two completely different colours at once. I think it looks sophisticated and not at all whore-ish.

Tonight I am going to see Batman Begins! Yay! Christian Bale is so incredibly awesome. He's going to be a wicked Batman. Did you know he also has like 5 dogs and he found them all stray... what a sweetie. Also last night I went to get tickets for the aforementioned movie. It was my first time going to Hoyts at Riccarton. I must say I didn't go into any theatres obviously but I didn't like the feel of the whole thing. It seemed to big and white for New Zealand, like I felt like I was in America again. Also it had a slight airport feel.

At the same time I went to Borders. Which was incredible. I have never ever seen such a huge book shop (even in America, although I'm sure there's millions). Plus they had books by two of my favourite authors and I've never seen any books by Raymond Chandler in a bookshop in New Zealand before. I didn't buy the book (the long goodbye) because it wasn't a particularly nice edition. But next month I"m bugeting to buy a book from there. Woo!

Have a nice weekend all!

Gelayday

Andrew and I have made up a new day. That is it's name. Gelayday. The good news is it's part of the weekend, so now we have an 8 day week, but with a three day weekend! (Andrew I know we didn't discuss this but I hope you don't mind).

Last night I had a strange dream where I moved into a little flat thing attached to the house that my parents live in (but doesn't exist in real life). And then I was walking aroudn town with my cousins, Andrew, Kirsty, Hamish and Kate and I ran into Susannah who was all dressed up in a toga with a bunch of friends. Um then I went home and tried to call someone but the phone didn't work. It was very frustrating. So I awoke frustrated. I haven't tried any real phones yet... but I'm hoping my dream wasn't a premonition.

Thanks for answering questions everyone!

Sewing last night was good. I'm learning a lot. Also it's absolutely incredible the number of injuries I do myself with pins. Last week I had quite a gash down my leg from trying on pants with pins in them, and last night I cut my hand by jabbing myself accidentally with a pin.

Today is Thursday! Yay! I love Thursdays. Fridays atre good too but I find Friday afternoons drag terribly.

Have a nice day all!

Answers

1. From Amy To Mindy:
Have you seen my Lion King cd?

No Amy unfortunately I haven't seen it for quite some time. I do, however, know where your Queen Greatest Hits CD is. I'm sorry about that.

2. From Nick To Mindy:
How/Why do people get crush's on other people when they are quite happy in a relationship with someone else?

I believe when this happens it happens in a similar sort of way to people lusting after movie stars. There's no way you'd get mad at a partner for thinking Brad Pitt is hot, and if you are truly in love with someone a crush on someone else would probably be at the same sort of level. Hehe or maybe you're the kind of person who desires more than one partner... go see Gloomy Sunday. Maybe it's to do with a sort of three-some fantasy thing. So I do believe it's possible and not unhealthy if kept at a level that is not disrespectful to your partner.

3. From Nick to Everyone:
What would you do if you had 6 months to live?

Mindy: I'd quit work and live off my parents. And I'd wake up at 6 every morning. And I'd get some great tattoos (as they wouldn't stretch due to pregnancy or old age). I'd try and write a novel or poetry. I'd try and do one special thing with each person who was special to me, eg go to Disneyland with Amy, go to Europe for a week or something with Lara, go sailing for a week with Dad... things like that.

Amy: If I had six months to live i think i would go to disneyland
then disneyworld
then euro disney
then tokyo disney
then disney hong kong....(need I go on?)

Adam: I would attempt to mastermind a cunning caper, most likely criminal in nature. I've always wanted to try a great train robbery, but they don't seem to carry valuable stuff any more. So I would probably try my hand at being an art thief or a jewel thief.

4. From Nick to Amy:
Using economic terms explain to us why you think money is the root of all evil.

four simple words:people respond to incentives

and also, i never said that i believe money is the root of all evil. it is a hell of a lot more efficient than bartering goods for several reasons:
divisible
valuable
transportable
hard/costly to replicate
cardinal
good store of value
etc etc

5. From Nick to Kirsty:
I've had 9 X-rays in one year of my neck, whats your record?

Dear Nick,

I only ever had 1 x-ray. ever I've had about 7-8 MRI scans so far in my life, You win.

6. From Nick to Andrew:
If you had to choose a different line of work, what would it be?

Hmmm. Thats a good question Nick. I would have to say that I would probably like to do medical research. Being in computers we invent stuff, and I would like to discover "truth" instead once in a while.Sorry, boring answer. What I meant to say was - um - a porn, um, director, in.... sweden.

7. From Nick to Killer Chicken:
Do you think big bird is a sell out?

dear Nick
Big bird is a slut.
from killer chicken.

8. From Nick to Boris the Ostrich:
Why does ostrich meat taste so damn good?

Ostrich meat tastes so good as it has a sweet, slow acting poisionthat kills within 10 years. A tell-tale sign of its affects is anunusual amount of hairiness in the sufferer.

9. From Nick to Adam:
Please could you describe to us your perfect girl?

Nick, this a difficult question because, as you know, I'm so desperate that I feel that I could settle for pretty much anything at the moment. If I had to give an answer though, and I guess I do, then I would say that my perfect girl would be cheerful, sweet, funny and smart. Also she would be extremely patient because I am very childish, but would also be childish herself. I think she would have to be motivated because then she could motivate me to do things to counteract my natural laziness. Aside from that she would be incredibly good looking - hey you did say perfect. Oh and short, because I'm short too and I wouldn't want to get a sore neck. I think that's about all. Oh, I guess it would be good if she owned a brewery and a corporate box in Jade Stadium. And she would have red hair and green eyes, maybe irish. Actually an accent would be quite nice. Ok, that should do it.

10. From Nick to Laracroft:
When's your next film coming out?

11. From Nick to Bradley:
Who's your favourate flatmate?

dear nick
I love my mummy the most.
Especially her arm with the blanket over it
from Bradley

12. From Nick to McFly:
Shouldn't you be studying?

13. From Mindy to Killer Chicken:
Why are you so mean? Were you molested as a child? Do you just have an evil sense of humour? Or are you just inherently bad?

dear Mindy
I am mean. What do you expect with a name like killer?
from killer chicken

14. From Mindy to Nick:
If you suddenly became a female tomorrow, how would you act differently to other females. Ie is there something that females invariable do, that drives guys mad, that youve experienced from a guy's perspection, so consequently would never ever do - I guess unless you were trying to punish a guy for some reason.

This is an interesting question, as women by nature are inherently evil. They obviously don't mean to be, they do actually TRY to be sweet and innocent and lovely. Actually for the most part all women are sweet, innocent and lovely. But the fact remains that women inevitably twist us guys around your little fingers, get us to break our back for you and toss us away when it suits you. And god bless you women, we just LOVE you for it. Now knowing this, if i were magically turned into a women i would pretty much manipulate all the men around me to do my bidding. I'd offer the hint of sex with me as a bartering tool for what i want. I would get guys worked up to buy me all the alcohol i want, and food and presents. Basically i would be the biggest flirt round. Now you might say that you know women like this, but lets be honest here, eventually all women that are like that eventually find a guy they like and the roles end up reversed. This however would NEVER happen to me, as all guys are bastards and i'm only attracted to women. The question might also occur to you to ask why i don't do this to women. Well the simple fact is hat i REALLY like women, and while i see them for what they are (evil), i still feel the need to spoil them rotten. So mindy i think that answers your question, in essence i wouldn't do anything different, i would just do it better.

15. From Mindy to Kirsty:
What is your favourite kind of discharge?

My favourite type of discharge so far has to be the bubbly green one I found.

2 month birthday!

Hello!

Today is the 2 month birthday of this blog! Hoorah!

birthday-cake

Also in special celebration today is ask anyone day! So post in your questions, if you have an answer email it to me. And then during the day I'll compile the questions and answers, and they'll be posted by tomorrow!

ps Of special note yesterday Adam left, and now he is back so everyone who was worried can now stop worrying!

pps Here are the lyrics to a beautiful very haunting song (in a rock kind of way). It's off Apocalypse now, hehe actually it was also on the Simpsons on Saturday night but in an Apocalypse now take off bit. You should all listen to it.

The End - The Doors

This is the end
Beautiful friend
This is the end
My only friend, the end
Of our elaborate plans, the end
Of everything that stands, the end
No safety or surprise, the end
I'll never look into your eyes...again

Can you picture what will be
So limitless and free
Desperately in need...of some...stranger's hand
In a...desperate land

Lost in a Roman...wilderness of pain
And all the children are insane
All the children are insane
Waiting for the summer rain, yeah

There's danger on the edge of town
Ride the King's highway, baby
Weird scenes inside the gold mine
Ride the highway west, baby

Ride the snake, ride the snake
To the lake, the ancient lake, baby
The snake is long, seven miles
Ride the snake...he's old, and his skin is cold

The west is the best
The west is the best
Get here, and we'll do the rest

The blue bus is callin' us
The blue bus is callin' us
Driver, where you taken' us

The killer awoke before dawn, he put his boots on
He took a face from the ancient gallery
And he walked on down the hall
He went into the room where his sister lived, and...then he
Paid a visit to his brother, and then he
He walked on down the hall, and
And he came to a door...and he looked inside
Father, yes son, I want to kill you
Mother...I want to...fuck you

C'mon baby, take a chance with us
C'mon baby, take a chance with us
C'mon baby, take a chance with us
And meet me at the back of the blue bus
Doin' a blue rock
On a blue bus
Doin' a blue rock
C'mon, yeah
Kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill

This is the end
Beautiful friend
This is the end
My only friend, the end
It hurts to set you free
But you'll never follow me
The end of laughter and soft lies
The end of nights we tried to die
This is the end

Dreams

Well I had two very strange dreams last night.

One of them I was stuck inside a house trying to escape (which some other people, I don't know who they were though). But when we went outside, or even got too close to a window we got shot at by the characters from the Guru (which was on TV last night). I can't even remember if we eventually got out or not. Probably not. The other dream involved my work, and there were tons of people here on work experience and I knew them all. But they weren't people I know in real life. Anyway it was very annoying as they were using my computer and I wanted to check my email!

Also Andrew had a dream about his cellphone. I think that's a very bad sign. Maybe they need some time apart.

Last night I baked a banana cake. I actually ended up putting three bananas in it, which wasn't a problem as we'd gone shopping. It was yummy. Well it still is. Most of it is still left. And unless Bradley eats it all during the day I'm expecting it still to be there when I get home.

Nobody gave me any good ideas for books to read, other than Harry Potter, so I guess I'll have to start reading that.

Busy busy busy

Well I had a very busy weekend. It was great.

On Friday I watched Shaun of the Dead (or Sean of the dead or something I can't really remember how it was spelt). Then SaturdayI went shopping with Mum for all kinds of stuff including some material for me to make pjs with. Then I had to re-pot a ton of my plants which took awhile.

As for my pjs I cut out all the material - it is a great pattern - cow spots all over it. We watched The Terminal that night, which was quite good I thought. On Sunday I went back to the fabric shop and bought some more material to make pj pants for Darren. Then I made them. He loves them - welll that's what he said. He did tell me that if I'd made them he'd wear them no matter what pattern they were, so he can't really complain that he got black with flames all over.

I need a really good book to read now as I've finished my other one. I'm sort of reading a non-fiction book about Marcel Duchamp but it would be nice to have something a little more engaging for night-time reading. And I know I've got Harry Potter to read but I don' t quite feel like giving into it just yet. So if anyone has any recommendations I'm open to them!

Have a nice day!

:-) M

Competition Results!

Hello!!!

Now the correct answer was.... I was on Queen Street in Auckland. And I was extremely happy because I'd just seen the Mars Volta at the Big Day Out the day before (this kind of thing makes one happy for quite some time). And so the question is who does the prize go to?

Well I am awarding three prizes:
One to Slartibartfast
"You were going to the national banana convention, which is why you were happy. Your location is in a street in Auckland where you have just witnessed someone chuck a banana skin out a car window at you which is contributing to your happiness, as you do quite like bananas. "

One to Andrew for
"You might be going to a RHCP concert, Big Day Out etc. "

And one to Kirsty just because
"you are happy because you have just seen how gorgeous you look in the shop mirror. "

The grand prize goes to Johnny Depp for:
"Mindy, I think you're happy because you're being you. Your natural beauty is enough to brighten the sky on the darkest of days. You radiate effortlessly through the night, while the sun runs for cover. No outside being can reduce your happiness and through this you are a constant inspiration to generations of lonely souls. A photo can not possibly do justice to your infinite qualities. Mindy, will you marry me?"
But his prize is that he now gets to marry me.

Thank you all for entering it was a great effort!

:-)
Mindy

Competition

Ok it's not a very exciting one... actually I shouldn't put myself down like that.... it's mega mega exciting! Woo hoo!!

Ok so you all see that little picture of me for my profile (and appears with all my comments) the competition is you have to guess/speculate as to why I look so radiant and happy (lets just assume that you agree that I look radiant and happy). Now the answer is NOT dodgy! Anyone who submits a dodgy answer will be disqualified. The prize will be awarded at my discretion to either the person who is closest to the truth, or the person with the most inventive/interesting/funny answer. And you can put forward as many suggestions as you like, but if you put forward a dodgy one all of your attempts will be disqualified. The prize will be a packet of tim tams because they are yummy. Or if you don't like tim tams it will be something else.

Andrew just gave me a good idea. I will also be looking for people who accurately guess where I am. So location or why I'm happy or inventiveness/humour will be the three categories I will be considering. So aim for one or more of these.

Unfortunately Lara is not allowed to enter as she took the photo. Sorry Lara.

1. If my understanding is correct, people breathe in oxygen and then breathe out co2. SO how does mouth-to-mouth resuscitation work then - aren't you just breathing co2 into them? (Adam)

Dear Adam, great question! The human body does not convert all the oxygen in each breath taken, in addition inhaled air is not made up entirely of oxygen, infact it's only 20%. When we breath we use about 20% of the oxygen in each breath. Therefore you exhale about 15 to 16% oxygen, which is more than enough for the person to get by on till they start breathing themself.

2. What are the rules about when you are allowed to get with someone. When your in a good relationship with someone, obviously you can't get with someone else... but what about when that relationship goes sour? Do you have to break up before its allowed? What exactly are the rules on this? (BHN)

Dear Nick, I am sort of curious why you're asking this. But anyway the answer is if you are going out with someone you are going out with them. And even if the relationship is sour out of respect for it and what it was and in the interest of ending as peacefully as possible you must break up with the other person first. Those are my moral standards, and I do not intend to impose them on anyone they are just what I believe and what I'd expect from someone I'm involved in.

3. I was going out with a blanket once and then I slept with a dressing gown without breaking up with the blanket first. Was this wrong? (Bradley)

Dear Bradley, I can only tell you that according to my personal standards I believe that was wrong. Also you are too young to be dating let alone sleeping with anyone! And if you're not too young, then you're too old to be playing with toys... so you have to choose between the two son!

Fire

It was brought to my attention this morning that some people might not know the the Red Hot Chili Peppers version of Jimi Hendrix's Fire is excellent. I would highly recommend it. Even if you're not a fan of the original the cover is quite dynamic.

Also it's ask Mindy day today! Although I feel I've already answered most of the questions about Life the Universe and Everything (hehe) but if by chance there are still any left throw them my way.

I can't remember my dreams at all last night. Although annoyingly I awoke at 4.50 and those oooh good I get to sleep for another hour and a half, and then proceeded to remain awake until 6.20 when I got up. Also I finished my painting last night. It looks beautiful and now I'm going to start a new one... slightly bigger this time. But I'm going to wait until I've got a really good idea for it.

Also Happy Birthday to Helen for Sunday!

And have a lovely day everyone.

Squeak!

Good morning everyone,

Sorry I'm late this morning. It's because I had to eat my porridge. Normally I just throw it at the walls, but Andrew banned that.

Well wasn't the long weekend nice and long? I'll say it was.

I bought two pairs of socks.

Also I had a dream that I was having a baby, but there was only a 27% chance of it living so I was very distraught. Following on from the baby theme, the next day I had a deram that I was babysitting the child of the ambassador to New Zealand from somewhere in the Middle East (the dream wasn't specific). Also in that dream I went to the school canteen and bought some red licorice and a chocolate milk for $3.50 which I thought was rather a lot.

I don't think I have any other news. Sorry.

Bye!

Back at work

Hi,

I'm back at work today. I tried really hard to eat my breakfast, and I'm only feeling a little dizzy so I'm sure I'll be fine. :-)

Hope everyone has a nice Friday.

:-(

I hate being sick.

That is all.

Bye.

ps Hehe that comment about Mum and Dad was because I was round one day and they were reading the newspaper about a whitehouse (I think) employee who had a pornographic blog which had caused all kinds of problems. So Mum warned me against that.

1. Why are guys so easy to manipulate? (BHN)

Dear BHN, the reason guys are so easy to manipulate is that they have 4 billion more brain cells than females. Although this fact might not automatically seem to answer your question bear with me while I explain. Despite the fact that men often have slightly bigger heads than feamels this difference is not nearly enough to cope with an extra 4 billion braincells. Therefore whilst female's braincells are all spaced out comfortably with enough room to operate successfully, men's are not. They are all squished up and cramped and uncomfortable and many braincells just deal with this lot by simply turning off and going to sleep. Therefore men's brains in general are simpler and do not work as well. Therefore when you have a complex functioning brain, as do all females it is not difficult to use this brain to manipulate those lesser beings... eg men. Hope this helps.

2. Why are people so good at telling other people what to do but hopeless at doing it themselves? (John F)

Dear John F, the reason for this is that it is very easy to talk (write/instruct) about things. Doing them in invariably more difficult. This effect is magnified when the "doing" is something difficult, unpleasant, or against the person's natural tendencies. Because basically we run on emotions and instinct and these are very hard to fight. Just talking about things we don't need to fight the instincts but when it comes to behaving in a particular way we have tons of things working against us. As of all things there is a counter example. I find it much harder to tell people what to do when learning to water-ski than i do actually waterskiing. Hope this helps.

3. is "jumpstart" code for anything? :P (BHN)

Dear Nick, My Dad sometimes reads this blog (which is why it's pretty much pg). But in this particular case jumpstart is not code for anything other than jumpstart. In cases where it is code for something else I certainly wouldn't be publishing it on the web. If I learnt anything from Mum and Dad it is that pornographic blogs can come back to bite you in the ass.

4. Adam is easily startled isn't he? (Mindy)

Dear Mindy, yes it would seem that way.
