Petrol Prices

RHCP Lyric of the Day: Diviner than the dolphin that there is none coz dolphins just like to have a little fun

Favourite Song of the Moment: Dazed and Confused - Led Zep

The question I put to you today is do we want petrol prices to come down? Yesterday I sent on an email about a scheme to force BP and Mobil to reduce their petrol prices. The email triggered some interesting responses. First I was informed by an economics expert that boycotting particular stations will not cause them to lower their prices as that is not the way the petrol market works, Amy concurred as well. But I was also met with two very strong arguments that lowering the petrol prices would be a terrible thing. The environmental view it will keep people away from public transport, and Amy had some terribly heartfelt arguments that I didn't quite understand about it being an unsustainable resource and the price is too low already and people in some nation are living below the poverty line because of the low prices. Anyway maybe she could clarify (there was a lot of shouting and laughing going on whilst we had this argument in the car on the way to the restaurant). Anyway after initially thinking great, lower petrol prices I have reconsidered my position.

Dinner last night was really lovely. A similar sort of meal to the night before but completely different company and a completely different atmosphere. So thanks to Mum and Dad for taking us.

:-) M

John, I heard you also tried to incorporate pagers into your music as well. That's a lot of incorporation going on. Maybe as a public service you could only incorporate public transportation vehicles to encourage fans to use the bus!

Wow a Californication left-over that is very exciting! Can't wait to hear it.
