Cold

RHCP Lyric of the Day: I change the key from C to D you say to me it's just a minor thing

I'm cold. It's just not fair I tell you!

Friday was an excellent day. I went for a nice walk at lunchtime with Rania and Warren (although I was wearing boots so my fet got very sore) and then had a work dinner, then up to Gran's to see Auntie Jill and Gerald, and all the family. Then back at the flat Kirsty tied me up a couple of times and then we went down to the airport in our dressing gowns to pick Andrew up (he'd been visiting Hamilton). And to our excitment we weren't the only ones at the airport with dressing gowns on! (We were the eldest people though by approximately 20 years but hey!).

Then Saturday was the wedding. It was a super lovely wedding, really nice to see all the family together. And Andrea looked beautiful and they were a very happy couple. The highlight was of course Kirsty playing barmaid later in the evening once the downstairs bar had been abandoned.

Sunday was the wedding bbq, then house work, then watching Without a Paddle (it was mediocre), then to Mum and Dad's for Gran's birthday dinner. And on Monday I did nothing! Just watched a lot of Scrubs, had a nap, and hung out at Darren's for the rest of the evening.

So now I'm back ready to start work and I'm cold. But another excellent piece of news is now my yuccas are inside so I'm hoping they will cheer up considerably. It was lucky I bought them in before the wicked hail storm!

:-)

ps We've got a new person (another Canterbury graduate) starting on our team today! Woo hoo!

Woo hoo! I've made first comment of the day ;-) I've been discussing with Andrew and I'd just like to publically announce that I do not want Steak cheesecake!

Anonymous said...

I second that.
Eating steak is evil.

Many of my friends and family have been murdered just so a privilaged few can have delicious steak cheesecake.

Think of the children.

The children? Or the calves?

Is a steak and cheese pie a form of cheesecake? I mean it's a similar shape, and it has cheese in it?

Just think of where we would be without cows. Take the steak and cheese pie:

Pastry: Contains lots of butter. From cows.
Meat: Cow. Clearly.
Gooey stuff: Gelatin. Therefore cow. (Nasty bits - just ask Kirsty)
Cheese: Cows again!

Its like cow in a packet.

Back to your original question... No, steak and cheese pie is not a cheesecake. Don't be ridiculous.

Here's some logic:

A normal cheesecake contains:

Cheesy bit - Cream cheese (cow)
Gelatine (cow)
Base - Lots of butter (cow)
Topping - Gelatine (cow)

And there's not much else in it really.

So we see normal cheesecake = cow in a packet

As an observant person pointed out a steak and cheese pie = cow in a packet

Therefore steak and cheese pie = cheesecake

I think you people are sick.

Sick? Or logical?

Do I detect a hint of jealousy?

Mindy! You keep disabling posts to old conversations and it's terrible cos I want to say:

Amy - Queen of Sheba defintely not by Verdi, I'm 99% sure it's Handel, and it's called 'The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba'.

Yemen - Mindy you should be able to spell that cos you bought me a book on the history of modern Yemen! And it's fascinating.

Petrol prices - they are high, and that's sad for people who have to drive. I think if you live in the country you should pay less for petrol, cos there are far fewer alternatives. So I think country petrol stations should be susidised by the government. Then everyone in town might drive out to the country for petrol, but if this happened, then this would just cause a rural revival which is also good, as more people visiting small towns in countryside means more income for those towns, etc. etc. Also I think that they should ban cars from the center of chch. There should be buses only allowed in, and free electric shuttles. From say the 4 avenues inwards. This would make everyone healthier as they walk more, and plus would save them money as they would have less petrol consumption, and be good for the environment. Oh and all bikes should have meters on them and when you reach a certain number of metres travelled you should get discounts from local stores.

Lastly - You never comment on my blog anymore! Noone comments on my blog anymore! Amy - come and read my blog! Hey Andrew and Kirsty you should too! Maybe I should use mindy's blog as an advertising post.
Click on my name ok?? And follow it! to my profile, and then to my blog! And then leave a comment! It would be so exciting. Even Olly has stopped commenting these days.

Hey yah another person on your team! Who is it? Do I know them?

and also... Wellington was freezing as well. Way colder than chch I'm sure. but Auckland is really warm still! Auckland is such a nice *warm* city and it's sunny and has parks and lots of beaches, people still swimming at them last weekend, still yachting too, and it has nice views from everywhere!
